A study at Warwick Medical School has shown that cholesterol-lowering statins such as Lipitor and Zocor may lower blood pressure as well. Researchers say that though statins do not lower blood pressure enough to replace hypertension meds, statins may reduce the dose and number of meds patients need to keep their blood pressure under control.
