Researchers in Saudi Arabia have found that myrrh--best known as one of the gifts of Magi--may help lower bad cholesterol. In a recent study, rats who were fed the resin as part of their diet showed decreased levels of bad cholesterol and increased levels of good cholesterol. The investigators say the resin could be used as part of a heart-healthy diet for humans, though they are unsure how people might consume it.
