Lipitor, Concerta among drugs that bar some from health coverage

People who take certain medications may be denied health care coverage by some California insurers. Patients taking common medications such as Celebrex, Concerta, Prevacid, and Lipitor may be rejected. People in occupations such as firefighting or professional athletics may also not be covered. Health plan representatives defend the practice by saying the restrictions keep premiums down. Read more »
