FDA approves Livalo to treat high cholesterol

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved a new statin called Livalo to treat high cholesterol. The drug is intended to treat high cholesterol in people whose diet and exercise changes have failed to control the condition, and works the same as other statins. Livalo's approval was based on five clinical studies that compared its safety and effectiveness to three other statins. Read more »
