Low cholesterol linked to premature births

A new study suggests that very low cholesterol levels in pregnant women may harm the health of the fetus. Researchers found that 12.7 percent of white women in the study who had cholesterol levels below 159 mg/dL gave birth prematurely, compared to five percent of women with higher cholesterol. No association between cholesterol and premature birth was found in black women, however. Read more »
