The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has granted approval for a
generic formula of Colestid (colestipol hydrochloride). Colestid is
used to reduce elevated serum cholesterol and LDL ("bad")
cholesterol levels in patients with hypercholesterolemia who cannot
control the levels with diet alone.
