A new study at Rush University Medical Center has found that Vytorin is better at lowering LDL ("bad") cholesterol than Crestor. Vytorin, a combination of Zocor and Zetia, lowered LDL cholesterol by 56 percent in the study, compared to Crestor's LDL reduction of 52 percent. Crestor's maker responded to the study by pointing to clinical trial results that showed that when Crestor was combined with Zetia, patients' LDL numbers were reduced by 70 percent.
