Cholesterol, heart med combo may cause muscle damage

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a warning that people who take the cholesterol drugs Zocor (simvastatin) or Vytorin along with the heart drug known as Cordarone or Pacerone (amiodarone) have an increased risk of suffering severe muscle damage. Cordarone or Pacerone are used to treat irregular heartbeat. The danger rises among those who take more than 20 mg daily of the cholesterol drugs.
