A recent study performed on rats has found that soy isoflavones may
reduce the early stages of atherosclerosis. Researchers discovered
that soy and soy isoflavones helped inhibit the buildup of
monocytes in the arteries of rats. The adhesion of monocytes (cells
in the blood that play a role in immune health) and endothelial
cells (cells that line the inner walls of arteries) has been
