According to new research, the combination drug Vytorin is more effective at lowering bad cholesterol than Crestor. Vytorin works on two sources of cholesterol--its absorption and its production--while ordinary statins like Crestor only work on one. Researchers say that this makes Vytorin more effective at lowering cholesterol than even a doubled dose of an ordinary statin.
