Drugmaker seeks approval for new combo cholesterol pill

Drugmakers have asked the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to approve a new cholesterol medicine that combines TriLipix and Crestor. TriLipix works to raise levels of good (HDL) cholesterol, while Crestor lowers bad (LDL) cholesterol levels. If approved, the drug would be called Certriad, and it would be approved to treat dyslipidemia, a disorder characterized by elevated cholesterol and triglycerides, a type of fat found in the blood stream.  Read more »
