What Is A Generic For Crestor?
Executives at AstraZeneca, the company that makes Crestor, say they have "no plans" to cut prices on the cholesterol-lowering drug in the face of increased competition from new generic Zocor (simvastatin). One executive referred to recent clinical trials that showed Crestor lowered LDL ("bad") cholesterol by 50 percent and reduced cholesterol build-up on artery walls as evidence that Crestor could compete with generics with current market strategies and prices.
