Peppermint may affect cholesterol meds

A reader asks Joe and Teresa Graedon of The People's Pharmacy if peppermint can affect the way cholesterol-lowering statins work. The Graedons respond with information from a recent study that found peppermint oil could impact blood levels of some statins, including Mevacor, Lipitor, and Zocor. But research also suggests that Crestor does not appear to be affected by the mint oil.  Read full story >
