Genetically modified soybean good source of omega-3

Scientists have engineered a soybean whose oil boosts the body's production of an important omega-3 fatty acid. Researchers found that this biotech soybean produces oils rich in stearidonic acid (SDA). This acid is converted by the body into an omega-3 fatty acid called eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), which has been found to reduce people's risk of developing heart disease.
