Scientists developing new weapon to fight cholesterol

Scientists at UCLA have developed tiny particles that mimic the action of good cholesterol in the body by attaching to cholesterol before it can grow into harmful plaque deposits. These nanoparticles are coated with fats and proteins that allow sticky cholesterol to attach to them. The particles then move the cholesterol through the body through the bloodstream and keep it from forming arterial plaque.
