A new report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has found that one in every five kids in the United States has either high levels of bad cholesterol, low levels of good cholesterol, or high levels triglycerides. CDC officials say their finding suggests that doctors need to be aware of cholesterol screening guidelines and treatments, particularly for young people who are overweight or obese. Abnormal lipid levels raise the risk of heart disease, which is one of the leading causes of death in the United States.
