A new, low-cost "polypill" that is designed to significantly reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke has begun worldwide clinical trials. The pill, known as the Red Heart Pill, contains low-dose aspirin, a cholesterol-lowering statin, and two blood pressure drugs. Experts say if it is approved and available for marketing, the drug would allow people who have heart problems to take only one pill instead of multiple medications.
