Scientists Heal Damaged Arteries in Pigs

Scientists say they have developed a process that works to rejuvenate aging arteries in pigs. The two-step process involves the use of nanoparticles that first clean out plaque from the animals' arteries. The scientists then insert stem cells that promote healing in those arteries. Researchers hope this work can one day be used to help people who have the artery-clogging condition atherosclerosis.  Read full story >
