Excessively High HDL Level

Question:

What are the risks associated with an excessively high HDL level? My total cholesterol is 229, my LDL is 117, and my HDL is 102. Should I be concerned?

Answer:

There really aren't risks associated with high HDL - the higher the better. Your lipids are excellent, and you are probably a combination of physically fit and genetically lucky to have such a high HDL.
