You asked for more information about Lyrica, the first drug approved for fibromyalgia. Here are two links:
FDA Approves First Drug for Fibromyalgia
In addition, here's an article on Medications Prescribed for FM
You mentioned that you use massage, but have you ever tried myofascial release therapy? It's a very gentle form of massage that usually works much better for people with fibromyalgia and myofascial pain. Not all massage therapists are trained to do it, so you just have to call and ask around. It's made a huge difference for me. I've also found acupuncture to be very helpful.
I know it can take a long time of trial and error before we each hit on what works for us. For me it's tramadol, myofascial release therapy, acupuncture and lifestyle adjustments. I hope you find a combination that works for you soon.
You're very welcome, Missy. I hope some of the info is helpful. You're not alone with cold weather bothering you. Most people with FM have a very difficult time when it's cold. Actually any weather change can bring on a flare. It seems to have something to do with changes in barometric pressure. Many of us could probably predict weather fronts better than the meteorologists!
I hope you'll let me know what your doctor says and how you're doing.
im sorry ive havent gotton back to you about the lyrica. Iwas taking 75mg and ive started getting blurred vision. so my dr told me to stay on 50mg im fine with this but i feel its not helping me as when i was on the higher dose it was better, but becouse of side effects i cant go on higher dose. today ive over did it i had a cook out and my pain acted up just by getting things ready for party. now im in so much pain . i have heat on me and its not really helping. im just fusterated that i cant do the things i used to do before without making me helpless . as for just a simple cookout . or just even shopping. thanks for listeing
