I know I am not crazy.....YET

I will try to make this long story as short as possible. I was in a car accident in 1997. I was diagnosed with whiplash, tremors and fibromyalgia. Treatment consisted of chiropractor, acupuncture, tens unit, physical therapy, traction, trigger point injections and I honestly can’t remember what else. After a couple of years of all of the treatments, anger, frustration and a need to support my family led me to walk away from all of the Doctors and seek employment. I have had pain consistently over the years and have tried to cope. Several months ago I could not stand the pain any longer and went to a Doctor and told him about the pain in my back, he diagnosed me with a bladder infection and sent me on my way. A few weeks later I returned to the same Dr. and again was diagnosed with a bladder infection. The next visit was to a different Dr. who ordered the MRI on my lumbar spine, diagnosis is bulging disc and degenerative discs. He referred me to a surgeon. I received a phone call from someone in this office, they did a 5 minute phone evaluation and told me they would call me back. After 3 weeks they called and told me they were recommending physical therapy. Forty-five minutes later the same person called back and again told me they recommend therapy, after I questioned why they were calling me again with the same info they apologized, explaining they were ready for the end of the day as they were going on vacation. I have never even been in this Doctors office. The Doctor that ordered the MRI referred me to a different surgeon. The new surgeon did see me and ordered another MRI on my neck and referred me to a pain clinic. I have received more info from the Nurse at this office than any other at this point. The results of the second MRI, 2 bulging discs in my neck along with bone spurs and degeneration. Recommendation, physical therapy, psychological therapy, a dietician and a referral to a neurologist. During my first appointment with the psychologist I explained that the Doctor that ordered the second MRI has not seen me since the initial visit and that I received results from the nurse. She recommended I make another appointment and demand results from his office. I called and this office asked if I had even had the MRI yet, yes 3 weeks ago I explained. This appointment about pushed me over the edge!  The Doctor came in (no chart or anything) told me he saw no issues he was concerned with explained he was retiring in 2 weeks and told me good luck and walked out of the room. So since the first Doctors visit 11 months ago I am in more pain than I was when I went. My left leg is starting to drag, I trip on thin air, pains shoot from my back to my butt to my hips down to my toes and that is on a day when I can feel my leg. Thankfully the tightness in my chest and the pain in my left arm is NOT a heart attack but the pain in my arm is getting worse and the numbness and tingling in my fingers is getting worse along with the fact that the muscles in my arm are getting weaker. Along with the daily headaches I am becoming terribly depressed as well as financially devastated and my Family Medical Leave is almost over. I am starting to feel like I am a hypochondriac with a different pain in a different spot everyday, but I know this is real and I know I am NOT YET crazy!!  I am VERY thankful for the support of a great man that keeps my spirits up as much as he can!! I still believe that all is not lost…. But some days are harder than others.
