By Amazed Sunday, June 22, 2008

Cry Hello I am Amazed & I have alot of Chronic Pain all over.  I was told that I do have Fybermyalgia in April 2008 I really though that I did and I suggested to my Dr. to do all the tinder points test & sure enough that is what he said to me was YES you do have it.  I am like everyone else I guess good days & then the really bad days.  I guess we all have to stick together & help eachother out where & when we can.  Everyone take care.  Amazed

Smile Hello Betty, Thanks for the message from you.  It is hard to find a sight that we are in the same boat as far as our pain goes we have someone that understands what we are going through & that helps alot.  Or I think it does.  Sorry I didn't respond until thismorning but was in bed early lastnight as like the most of the time.  Hope to hear from you again real soon. Hey Paula (amazed)Cool

You don't ever have to apologize to me about nottin.  All us painiacs have enough pressure to perform from docs, employers & family & friends, giggle   We don't need to put undo pressure on each other and worry how long it takes to reply. Kiss

Since you went to bed early, I hope you got some good rest.

It actually does help to know we are not alone.  I had no idea that so many americans were in this much pain.  Boy was I silly!

Take care, hope to hear from you again

Have a wonderful evening

Betty

I have just been diagnoised with it as well.  At first all my arthritis doctor said was that I had osteosarthritis.  It wasn't until recently, that I noticed something new on my chart.  I had seen things on the T.V. about it, and thought that sounds just like me.  Now I know for sure.  And yes, it can be very painful.  I too have my good days and my bad days.  When I am experiencing a bad day, all I want to do is lay down with the heating pad.  I found that HOT showlers also works.  Do you often feel cold.  Cold down to your bones?  I do, that's when the pain usually starts.

Hello Cheryl

It's good to meet you and I'm really sorry that you've got FM too.  Gosh this illness stinks.

It's interesting that you mentioned temperature and you being so cold.  I have this very same problem and am seeing my doc tomorrow over this issue and a few more.

I'd be very interested in you sharing more about your cold temps and having trouble regulating your body temp, being freezing all the time, etc.

I have begun taking my temp often to check to see what or why my reg resting temp in only 97.4* and when my temp is normal, I feel as though I have a fever?  Weird huh?  The only time that I'm actually comfortable is when it's outragesly hot for everyone else and even then, my hands & feet feel like ice.

If you have time I'd like to hear more about your temp and how it's going.

It seems as if it is one thing after another sometimes.  Right now, my temperature is still cold, while the top part of my body sweats like it aint no tomorrow.  I preach on Sundays and by the time, I get off the floor, I am soaking wet.  But that's no surprise, I sweat from just sitting still on my coach.

I have no idea why my legs stay so cold.  I've asked both my Arthritis doctor and my General Practioners, both have no idea.  They have checked the circulation in my legs and that came back fine.  I guess it's just one of the mysteries of life.

Lately, I have been having a lot of face pain and my right eye is killing me.  I think that it is partly due to sinus, allergies and hemangioma (which is a totally different problem).  All I know is that it hurts.  I am moving to move within five or six weeks to Georgia, I pray things get better.

Betty - You may need to have your thyroid checked ... that goes along with this painful disease (I have the MS "hug" 24X7) ... low temps. usually mean you are hypo- or hyper-thyroid (I was hyper for 6 months, now I'm hypo ... never sleep) ... I'll say a prayer for everyone here :-)

Hi Amazed,

I understand exactly how you feel.  I just recently was diagnoised with Fibermyalgia after suffering for years.  All I was told was that I had arthritis.  First in my jawbone, then in my chest, and finally in my legs and wrist.  Now, I am told that I have Fivermyalgia.  I wonder, is Fibermyalgia a form of arthritis?  Do anyone know.

Hi Cheryl

NO Fibro is not a form of arthritis, although many people have called it that in the past and I think one possibility was due to the fact that many fm patients were treated by a Rheumatologist.  I've also been told that FM is an Auto-Imune disorder and that is false too.

I've actually not really found a defineate answer for what FM is exactly?

Maybe our resident expert will stop by to tell us.

Thanks Betty.  How are you doing?  Has things gotten any better for you in your body?

Hey Cheryl

thanks for asking, sorry it's taken me a few days to respond.  I did make it to our camping trip over the weekend and was blessed with a really nice trip, low pain and low fatigue. I was amazed, and even after coming home and getting everything unpacked and put away, I've had some fatigue, but not doing too bad at all.  So over all, I'm pretty happy this week.

I'm trying to get used to a new med that my doc added last tuesday and it's not going all that great, but I'm hoping to stick with it and wait to see if the initial side effects calm down.  I don't really like anything that makes me feel groggy or foggy during the day.  Fm already creates a foggy head and I just don't like to add to it.

I hope your weekend went well and your doing good this week too.

Hugs, talk to ya soon

So glad to hear that your time away was good.  I that a terrible three days.  The pain was crazy bad, still I don't feel totally 100 percent.  Yesterday, I slept most of the day.  I surprised myself.  As soon as I woke up, all I wanted to do was to go back to sleep.

But as I said, today is better.  I pray, tomorrow will be great!

Hello again Cheryl

Good to hear back again.  Sorry to hear your not feeling too sharp, I actually spoke too soon the other day and even though I knew I was headed for the brick wall of fatigue, I headed out on Tuesday to visit my elderly friend, make sure she had groceries, meds set up and all her needs taken care of for the week.  When I got home Tuesday night, could hardly wait to get my jammies on and layed down and did not really get up till this morning.  Wow, could not even get up to feed myself yesterday and thank god my hubby was off and understanding and took care of me and fed me in bed.  My appetite was not very good, but I know I have to eat something, so forced some dinner down.

I'm alot better today and got a couple of chores done, made some responses online and here I am back here.  I really get frustrated with all the fatigue and I don't think my new med is helping it much.  I'm really hoping it will level out soon and not make me feel so weird & tired.

I even made it into town to pu my monthly meds, but came right back home.  one errand was enough for today.  giggle

I hope your fatigue lightens up, so you can do some things that you want to do.

Keep Praying honey.

Hugs

I do understand.  It upsets me to that I can not do what I use to do.  I look at the dirty walls and windows, that I use to clean.  I watch my grandchildren playing instead of joining in on the fun (I get a little of it), I send my son or husband to do errands that I once did without a second thought.

But throught it all, I PRAISE THE LORD FOR LIFE!  For the last three years some key people in my family have gone on to be with the Lord, and that alone is hard.

Today, I am back up and at it.  We are having a family reunion today, tomorrow, and ending Sunday.  Since I co-Pastor, I need to be prepared for services.  Did I mention, I am also tring to move to Georgai?  In between the phone calls, and church duties, there is packing, trashing things, donations and etc.  But, I wouldn't have it any other way.  I love what I am doing.

Keep in Touch,

Cheryl Kiss

Cheryl

I was just getting some replies out and wanted to check and see how you were doing?

I'm finally feeling better, after a horrid FM Flare last weekend.  We just got home from an overnight trip last night and are both relaxing and although my pain is at a 7 today. Once I rest and lay here in my recliner with the heating pad for the afternoon, I'll be feeling better (hopefully) tomorrow.

I had a nice week and got quite a few things done.  So I'm always happy about that and my elderly friend is all taken care of and I got her to all her apts, shopping, etc.  I just have to pay her bills tomorrow and she'll be set.

I hope all is going well for you & you had a nice time(but recovered) from your family reunion.

You take Care & May the Peace of Christ be with you.

Hello,

well, i must be honest,i thought this pain was was something in my head and thought i might be losing my mind. The pain has become so horrible that i have had to resign from my career as a hair designer/nail technician. It seems all of a sudden (6 months ) my pain has gotten worse each day. I have gone to the doctor and he says i have fybermyalgia. It scares me to think of my life and what its effect will have on me emotionally as well as physcially. I am 53 years old and i feel very old sometimes. I am very concerned.I am sure all of you are to. No one really understands about fybermyalgia except those that have it. Thank you for providing a place to vent my feelings.

I have fibromyalgia along withdegenerative disc disease and migraines and ulcerative colitis, and none of these things have what they say have a cure, just manage your pain and hope life treats you right, well, I used to work 60 hours a week and very active with my two children and my church and loved to dance, I always tried to stay positive because I have alot of faith in God, but I have now lost my job, almost can't pay my bills, one of my children are still at home

he  is  dealing with mental health issues and  needs my loving home and care and income to take care of him, but after working for 34 years I am trying to  get on disability, he has tried to get on disability and been denied once, but we are going to try again once I get some money saved for a lawyer but we must fight the fight  we are given because I believe God never gives us no more than we can handle, we just might need a little help along the way. So for you other people out there going thru the same issues, may God Bless You, ask him for your help, I will pray for you, you are not alone, Elizabeth Eddy

I too have alot going on in my life with my health & my husbands he is in the hospital with his Heart.  I try to stay strong but sometimes it is so hard to.

I had to reaply 3 times for disability then even had to appeal what they decided the third time.  It took me a total of 5 years but going to only get back pay for only three years back.  I guess that is better than nothing.  But still I worked for it & I should get all of it.

I guess all I can say is Hang in there & like you said have faith in our God almighty.

12/15/10 1:50pm

Thanks for the encouragement, hope all goes well, and may God bless your situation and your health and your families health. Elizabeth
