Mike
I first wanted to welcome you to the CPConnection and also wanted to say that we're all very happy to have you here with us.
Your experience with your pain pump is very freightening. I am so glad that it did not harm you worse than it already has. I also hope you have been able to have it repaired or replaced. It must be very hard to trust your pump, with the experience that you have had.
I wanted to let you know about our forums, as we have a great guy who runs a topic on pain pumps and he has had a very long ongoing discussion that you may want to also join in on. Here is the link over to the forum http://forums.healthcentral.com/discussion/chronic-pain/forums
you'll have to sign up for your screen name over there too, it only takes a few minutes and then you can contribute or start any conversation you want. For the pain discussion, just scroll down to General discussion and when the next window opens, you will see the one about "wanting to share info on the intra pump" Bob would love to discuss the pumps and all the information with you too.
I'm glad you have started a share post and explained your experience with everyone else too and I'm sure it should produce some question too.
Hope all is well and we're very glad that you've come to discuss your pain with us.
Take Care

Pain Pump

I am very curious to see how many other people have been affected by this pain pump. A family member of mine passed away a week ago at 61 years old. He too had many spinal surgeries...all making him worse. He wasn't feeling well, went to lay down and never woke again. At first we all thought he had a massive heart attack, but the coroner said it was not a heart attack and it is felt that his pump had malfuctioned, but it will take 6-8 weeks for concrete answers. Has anyone else out there lost someone in this manner?

Hi Mike my name is jessica and I just recently lost my mom in April of '09. She had 14 back surgeries and 3 different morphine pumps. We as a family think her death was caused by that pump. Her pump cracked in half. I kinda know what your going through but I just want to let you know it can be scry but have faith.
