Recalled Pain Pump, No Disclosure, Won't Replace & Cannot get Another Dr. to give 2nd Opinion
Morphine Pump 8627L18 10 mg daily w/ 10% concentration, 4 - 220 mg Aleve & 20 mg Diazepam nightly for sleep, stool softners, Senna Laxitive & gas Medication.
Seeking any and all medical, former/current, professional and/or legal assistance to get my pump & pain problems resolved so he can live a tolerable life without the horrible pain that he endures on a CONSTANT BASIS WHICH IS GETTING WORSE...He is Still FIGHTING...only hope we see now is for 2nd opinion Doctor who will care and take his condition seriously - he is not the same person as before the drug reaction to dilaudid. We pray this new doctor will help to diagnose & treat his problems w/ previous doctors failed treatement & lack of disclosure regarding the Medtronics Pump Recall & Lipoma of the Filium on recent MRI & most recent diagnosis w/ trigeminale. These symptoms have to indicate some form of diagnosis & treatment. Current dr. will not accept possibility of ongoing drug reaction to dilaudid & just wants to take pump out & stop treating him. He recently had faucet injection 3 weeks ago, w/ no relief - gained 10 lbs with small little improvement - then Dr. reduced pump again by 10% - major increase in pain, constipated constantly, major increased pain sitting, riding, (both increase problems urinating and w/ constipation, barely able to walk unassisted & unable to drive. Seeking 2nd opinion within 2-3 weeks; just trying to make it second by second getting him thru the day trying to relieve the pain. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated - this man was raised & lives on a farm; has worked hard all his life even in pain up before the pump, after the pump and even for 2 months after pump was adjusted to 2 mg per day - came home & was flat on his back unable to move or function, in tears, unable to sleep & got up the next morning to do it again. He has no source of income, disab. ssi or workers' comp. - he could not function at work & the fear of the pump failure & injuring/killing someone kept him up all nite at times until he decided it was time to get the pump recall resolved. His pain is not responding to Morphine pump increases. He does not drink, use illegal drugs, takes his prescriptions as prescribed - but is getting worse - perhaps a result of the drug reaction to dilaudid, lipoma of the filium or the most recent diagnosis of trigeminale - now morphine doesn't relieve pain & he's getting worse day by day to the point where I sympathize with his choice to "live or die philosophy..." In fact, if he was my dog or horse, my vet & I would have had him put down along time ago. When I see him screaming in pain every day & night for over 6 months; I would be Happy & Relieved to know he was out of pain & in a better place - but we keep praying his 2nd opinion dr. or someone on this site can help diagnose, treat or at least help reduce or better deal with the pain. He has read every book, website blog & information on the subject & still has no clue what needs to be done other than change doctors. God bless & thanks for any help or assistance you can provide. Mary God bless for any and all help, Mary
