On April 28, 1990 I was injured at work tearing the meniscus in the left knee, I thought I would go through surgery and within six weeks I would be back at work doing my job. Not to be so, I awoke in bed after the surgery and thought all went well, the Dr.'s report was good and I went home but after 3 weeks something was wrong, terribly wrong the pain I was feeling was as bad as the day I was injured, I called the Surgeons office and reported the pain problem and he gave me more medication but couldn't understand why I was still having pain at the level I was reporting, after 6 weeks he sent me to see another specialist and he did a number of tests and IV injections, after the last 1, he told me to get out of bed and walk, of course I was sceptical but I slowly got out of bed, there was no pain and I was walking again, I thought I was cured and He was a miracle worker, of course he told me I had RSD (A Diagnosis I had never heard of) and we had a long road ahead, I asked if I would be able to return to work and he said not right now, this Dr. his name Tom Raniri, began a long and extensive Treatment Plan, To make a long story shorter, over the years I have been diagnosed with Arthritis in 1992, Fibromyalgia in 1995, a Lump was found on my left Adrenal Gland in 1998, and Pagets in 2007 I have been on a variety of medication over the years, but methadone and percocet I am still on ever since I was diagnosed with RSD just the dosage is increase about once or twice a year as symptoms require. (I have asked not to be placed on a med pump)
