I be lieve I have CFS-what is the best way to approach my doctor?

By mercy Sunday, September 12, 2010

Hello,

My name is Mercy.  I am new to your community and I am so glad to be here.  I have been suffering all alone for 4 years now, and sometimes I really think crazy.  I have 5 chronic diagnosis but I know that some things are still wrong.

I will make a long story short.  Over the last several months, I am so fatigued.  I tis worse than ever.  I have done research and have all the symptoms of CFS.  I asked my doctor last time about it, and she said that you must have anti-bodies for epstein bar in your blood to have this diagnosis.

I wondered if that is always true?

and..

How do I approach a doctor who seems so convinced to not help me or that there is nothing wrong with me?  I am dying inside. Please someone help me.

FIrst remember no-one knows your body better than you..Write down all your questions..Take in articles that updhold your belief of what is happening to you..Don't assume your doctor knows everything..A good doc  will tell you they don't know but will find out or send you to someone they feel can help..Stay on top of your changes and be able to tell the doctor when, how where and what happens to you..Does anything trigger your feeling worse if yes when and whast casued it..Is there something that makes you feel better if yes what..WHen are you worse when are you better..Is early morning worse than bedtime..walking, sitting rising up, computer work, thinking reading walking..lay it all out..Best of luck to you hon..Bonnie

Yes, I agree.  Be honest and tell it the way it is.  Doesn't guarantee your doctor will be understanding, but it seems that many are from what I've read here.  Best of luck too you.  Pain just stinks all the way around!
