His name is Mika. I came across his video at the movie theatre of all places. His video was played before the movie I went to see however the name of the song and even his name were left out. A few weeks later I heard the song again. Then I heard it AGAIN yesterday on my way to Toronto for the Raptors NBA game.
So I threw some of the lyrics to the song in a search engine and found him on Myspace. I think I'm in love!
I'm a big fan of Rufus Wainwright and Prince. Well, this guy kind of sounds like the two of them combined. NICE! Of course he'll never take the place of my dear Jeff Martin, but he's pretty good. New and different.
I'll be the first to admit that my taste in music is quite odd. If you look in my collection of cd's you'll find Rob Zombie next to Poison next to Guns N Roses next to Billy Idol next to Michael Jackson. haha.
I must have missed the ball on this one, Mika is going to be performing at a club in Toronto in a few weeks and is already completely sold out! Those indie underground music people that fill Toronto must have been onto this WAAAY before me.
Check him out here and see what you think.
