About Me
My name is Bekah and I am 24. I live in the province of Ontario with my husband and our 2 cats (Oliver & Toby) 3 birds (Calypso, Kiwi & Teeko) hedgehog (Ivy) fish (Derek, Meredith & George) and lovely Pug puppy (Monty).
I love to travel and garden. My favourite places to visit so far are Kentucky, Las Vegas and Maui. I enjoy being at the beach and go a cottage or camping every summer. Photography and beading are also a favourite passtime. I make and sell beaded jewelery online at Etsy and Ebay. I also love the art of tattooing and have collected 10 pieces since winter of 2003. My last tattoo being my Hawaiian shoulder piece I had done in November 2006 by my regular artist at Tora Tattoo. I had the Hawaiian piece done as a memmory of my honeymoon in Maui. I am slowly working now on having a full set of sleeves done as well as a piece for my back.
I met my husband in summer of 2002 and we got engaged on my birthday in Las Vegas winter of 2004. We married July 8th 2006.
I love music of all kinds. Some of my favourites include: Michael Jackson, Alice Cooper, KISS, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Poison, Rufus Wainwright, Rob Zombie, Prince, Nickelback, Theory of a Deadman, Barenaked Ladies, Billy Idol, Twisted Sister, Daughtry, Our Lady Peace, Ozzy, Wide Mouth Mason, and my all time favourite, The Tea Party. I have had the fortune to see these bands and many more live, some more than once. I have also been lucky enough to meet Nickelback, Theory of a Deadman, Wide Mouth Mason and The Tea Party twice.
Recently The Tea Party broke up after 11 years of being a band. Their lead singer, Jeff Martin, is now a solo performer and has been working a lot with The Toronto Tabla Ensemble. The Tea Party's music has always been rock fused with Indian, Egyptian and other foreign native music. He is a talented performer of many instruments such as the Hurdy Gurdy, Oud, Sitar and Sarod.
In August of 2006 Jeff did a small performance with only around 60 guests at the Toronto Tabla Studio. We were served an authentic home cooked Indian dinner and sat on Persian rugs at Jeff's feet for his performance. It was like a dream come true for me. Following his show, Jeff stayed and met everyone who came. Getting to not only see the man whom I have loved and respected since I was a very young in such a warm and friendly environment and then getting a chance to meet and talk with him really was my dream come true.
My favourite tv shows include The Simpsons, South Park, Family Guy, Veronica Mars, Prison Break and my all time favourites are Criss Angel Mindfreak and Grey's Anatomy!
Favourite movie genre is horror. Some #1's include Silence of the Lambs, Red Dragon, Halloween, The Devil's Rejects, Night of the Living Dead (really, any zombie move) the entire Saw series and Psycho. I also enjoy Death to Smoochy, The Illusionist, Fight Club, Can't Buy Me Love and The Prestige. My favourite actors include Patrick Dempsey, Edward Norton, Hugh Jackman, Wentworth Miller, Sandra Oh and Catherine Keener.
I was diagnosed with TMJ around fall of 2005 after a root canal I had in the summer and Fibromyalgia to follow fall of 2006 due to the root canal as well as history in my family of arthritis and fibromyalgia. I am currently taking 50mg of Amitriptyline for my Fibro and wearing a night guard when I sleep for TMJ. I am seeing my dentist and family doctor for treatment. I have had everything from headaches to jaw aches, pain in my back, legs, feet, hands, chest, Costochondritis and anxiety & panic attacks.
