Tis the Season for "WHAT"?

By ajforever Friday, December 21, 2007
Blush     This time next week it will all be in the past. This holiday season will be a thing of the past with rememberances of what a good day it was.
Pinch     You know what I mean. The wrapping paper will be in the disposal, the food preparations will be all eaten or stored for another day, and the decorations look like it's time to take them down. All the stress and strain of the holiday on the body will be almost gone, if not gone already.
Now, TIS THE SEASON for "Kudos". That's right! You need to do a mental check and really see the triumphs you made in the past month. Only you know the pain you were in when you did the second day of the cookie bake off. How you felt that day you went Christmas shopping when only your significant other knew how the headache pounded and the legs felt they could go no further when you had only been shopping for a half hour.
It may not have been the chronic back pain that got to you. Your pain factor number could have been even more accented by the other painful diseases that your body is faced to endure. Only you, personally, know the struggle you have dealt with during this time.  After others have complimented you on how well you look (or how well you were hiding your pain), you need to take a self survey and make sure that you pat yourself on the back for those accomplishments. Take your own standard for feeling good and be proud of what you managed to do. Because....
Heart The only kudos that will make you feel the best are the ones that you can give yourself. Be proud of yourself. MORE than the pride that others have shared with you. After that know that the next challenge is on its way. ! Heart !

Happy New Year!

What a terrific Post.

You are so right about the whole thing, amazing insite you have on all of our pain levels and how hard we all have tried not to disappoint our families and continued to step out and shop, bake and do, just so all can enjoy.

My dear sweet some shared with me last evening that he felt gift cards were a lame gift that showed we did not care enough to shop for others.  I wanted to lambaste him over the head and I then shared how much extra pain and stress it caused me to shop for and find new and exciting presents for all my family and extended family to enjoy.

He did finally decide that I was right and it did not make much sense for me to do all the shopping and gift cards were better for me, but boy did he get me hackles up on the back of my neck.

I personally feel that gift cards are the best thing ever invented.

I've already spent the past 24 hours in bed, down in pain with my legs, hips and thighs on fire, so I've not quite even survivied the holiday yet.

I'm making xmas breakfast at our home for my family, my mom & sister, so my dear husband went shopping to gather all the groceries I need tonight, so he and I can make a trip into the city tomorrow for the remainder of our shopping.  I'm planning to do more baking this weekend, as all I baked last weekend has been eaten by my son, husband and self.  LOL  So more is needed to give to a friend and to also have on xmas am here for my family too.

I really hope you do have some enjoyment from the holiday and a bit of cheer to enjoy.

Thank you for your post and oh how right you are

Take Care

Betty

Heart  Thank you for that Betty Boop.  I love to write so much but I try to write with my readers in mind.
I am so glad that you are making it through the holidays.  It appears that you have done far more than others have let me or finances have let me do.  But it is just so important to keep the meaning behind this holiday more important than retailers try to make it.  I just cherish the heart in the holiday.
In case I don't get another chance-----Merry Christmas, Betty to you and all of your family!!!Heart

Thank you for these words of encouragement!  Just exactly what I need to remember.  It just seems so strange that everyone else does not have these same constant pains!Anne
