This is new to me, but I am looking for some support from people like myself suffering with daily pain due to TMJD, and I hope to offer my experience and support to others as well. I am a 36y old single mom who is at her wits end trying to find relief from pain, and still trying to find a good doc that can hopefully help me. I have an appt. for a 2nd opinion as the oral surgeon I was seeing recommended jaw reconstruction and when my Insurance company denied my surgery he has pretty much abandoned me now. Anyone else like me...don't give up! Thanks and good luck & prayers to all!

Good luck to you... In my experience surgery isn't an option. The results can be 50-50... it may get better... it may not. I have had TMJ for almost 18 years now. I get the most relief through wearing a mouth guard (made by my dentist) at night and visits with my Chiropractor - she has developed adjustments specifically for me!!

Hi Rita

Im sorry about your TMJ, but I was wondering if you ever had time to create a sharepost for others to read about your chiropratic treatments for your TMJ, I'm sure it would be of great interest for our other folks who suffer too.

I've used chiropractic for many of my health issues but have never thought about it treating TMJ. boy how great it would be to give relief to more of the sufferers around here.

Welcome to the CPConnection, it's really nice to meet you.

I don't personally suffer with TMJ, but we do have many people here that do.

Did you know that there is a nice section over in the forums for TMJ people? Just thought you might want to visit over there too.

If I can be of any help for you to find any information in particular, please let me know.
