I am on 600mg Lyrica and was told by my rhematologist via my insurer that I had to start 600mg of Neurontin in Lyrica's place? Can I take both ? Can I stop one and start another in the same 24hr period?

Unfortunately patients' needs take second place to the needs of insurance companies. What the company pays and what they do not, and what process has to be endured to climb the ladder of alternatives. It is can be a literal pain. Sorry, can not offer you any sensible reason for the change. One day they pay, the next they don't - they pay for some diagnoses, but not for others - go figure.
