Hi everyone now that I have had my pump put in I thought I would let you know how it is going. Unfortunately I have had a moderate complication. I happen to notice about a week after I got home,a large red spot appeared on my stomach. I had bumped into a cabinet earlier in the week so I thought it was just bruised. When it did not go away, I started to get worried so I called the doctor. He told me to come in right away to see him. After a quick exam I was told I had developed a condition called cellulitis which could get serious if not treated right away. So they have put me on antibiotics and want to watch it real close. I have to go in next week to see how it is going. I will let you know how it goes when I find out more. Da Bluesman

Hey there,
I'm interested in knowing what medical condition caused you to resort to the intrathecal morphine pump. My husband just had the 10-day trial pump inserted Monday, April 21,'08. He has "failed back syndrome"--5 ruptured disks in his lower back. He's undergone 2 neck fusions, both failed, a lumbar laminectomy to cut off all his bone spurs, a right hip replacement as a result of limping, and a permanent spinal stimulator inserted at the brain stem in his neck. This has been going on for 10 years now, and he's just about at the end of his rope. I'm desperately hoping this pump will work out for my husband because he's a good man through and through--too young for all this stuff to happen. Hopefully, this morphine pump will help him greatly reduce his opiate use, and relieve some pain. Is your back this bad? Please tell me.
