I just got diagnosed with fibromyalgia this past year even though I have had the symptoms for years. I had migraine headaches as a child where I would have to vomit to get rid of the pain. I grew out of this by middle school although I still occasionally suffered from tension headaches. I had severe Menstrual cramps and began taking 800mg of Ibuprofen for relief. Immediately after I got married, I noticed how terribly painful it was to have intercourse. I went through many doctors, Injections, meds, during this time I had two beautiful children who where gifts from the Lord. During my 2nd pregnancy, I had to go to the hospital with viral meningitis, successfully treated, but after I had my child, the headaches where so severe and debelitating again. I began going to a chiropractor off and on which helped for several years, even though I also had episodes of shoulder pain and back pain. OH, I forgot to mention, my first episode of costochondritis was when I was 18 years old, I thought I was dying! But, I got the diagnosis from a chest xray, I'm stil confused why this is still happening on a daily basis even though I have had no trauma to my rib cage. Over the last year I had to go to The ER once for the head and back pain (not Fun) I hate going to the ER, eventhough I have been an ER nurse and currently am assit DON for a home health company. I have major problems with the way I react to pain, It causes anxiety and panic attacts. I'm not sure the cymbalta I am taking is doing much help. The klonopin helps and ambien for sleep, otherwise I will stay awake and obsess about the pain. I have taken so much ibuprofen over the years that I need to cut back due to mild stomach discomfort and risk for bleed. Started taking Norco 10/325 PRN which does help, however Soma helps the most with muscle spasms, headaches and pain perception. thanks for listening, hope someone can help or I can help someone else!
