Im currently using a Fentanyl Patch (100), Cymbalta 60 mg, & Lyrica 300 mg per day for chronic pain & fibro which I have had since 1992. I just started the Lyrica and its a Godsend. Has anyone else had the same experience? Also does any one know of a good pain Dr in Rochester, NY?? My idiot internist has suddenly decided he wants me off the Fentanyl patch for no reason "in the future". I've been on it for over 8 yrs! Whatever. So I need a real pain Dr for when this happens.
Hi, I was just put on Lyrica two weeks ago by my pain management specialist. I had tried it before in the past and had found it ineffective. However, it was ineffective because my doctor had not prescribed the doasge correctly. I was only taking 50 mg a day. This time the pain dr prescribed 150 mg per day. I went home and read the dosing guidelines from the company that makes Lyrica and they say that you can be dosed up to 300 mg within one week. THAT'S WHAT I DID! I take 150mg at 10:30 a.m and 150 mg at 10:30 p.m. I feel much better and have had more energy! Now I am not saying I'M pain-free, because I am not. I just feel different. I hope that more suffering people are helped with this medicine.
You can go up to 400 mg per day per the product insert. Im at 300 and the only side effect is bad drowsiness probably because Im also on Fentanyl patch, It helps ALOT with pain! Still I want to try the new drugs Neurocet/Neurophen. Any users out there??
