Hi all - had my appointment with Dr. Corey Ford at the U of NM , MS Center ... it was great ... and I was very pleased with what the doctor had to say, and the prescriptions he suggested and mostly that he did not have that dismissive attitude , but a good positive one ...

He prescribed me something for the pain, spasms , etc ... knowing that these pains co-exist with other issues I have ... thus the chronic pain ... I went in with a good feeling, I came out with an even better one ...

I am now on Neurontin and Baclofen .. I will add them to my list ... but I must say that they are working ... and this makes me happy ... while the Neurontin is a wee bit strong for me .. taking the two daily as prescribed sometimes proves too strong, so as with all other MS or Chronic Pain people, you adjust the meds to suit your needs ...

While he saw the medications I was taking, he actually did not eliminate anything, only saying that one day I may find that I will take less of the UltramER ... he lauded my diet and excersize program .. complimented me on how well my muscles felt , and were reacting, comparing to notes he went through from other doctors ...

While the bulk of my days are as painfree as possible, knock wood, these now out number the painful ones ... and I find that it is only when I let myself get stressed out that I hurt .. and of course the weather ... can still tell when we are going to have a weather change .. giggle ..

My attitude plays an important role, he said, and I asked if he thought I could one day return to "work" ... he smiled and said , well , if you want ... but he did suggest therapy , not for pain .. but for my cognitive skills and my speech ...
