Hi everyone, "Abby" here. First diagnosed with Fibro in 1992 and still have it. Most of my bowel diseases started at the age of 13, with ulcerative colitis. Now suffering with osteoporosis, degenerative disk disease, a "grade one wedge deformity of the spine", which is basically a fractured spine from T-6 through L-4, also several "bulging disks". Gastritis started about a year ago. Never had many problems with my stomach until then, just mainly the IBD and everything that entails. Found out in 2006, after a ct scan, I have a tumor in my left adrenal gland. Have seen a lot of "quacks" about it the past 2 years and all have told me "it's PROBABLY benign", only to find out just yesterday after undergoing tons of blood work, etc., that now it looks like it is malignant. The doctors NEVER believe you KNOW you're own body. I told them all I KNEW something wasn't right and that I just "had the feeling" it was malignant due to all the various symptoms I've been having now for years. I'm usually right-on about my body. Had to return to lab just this morning for more blood work. I've also been telling them for years that I thought I had RA, and now that also looks like the case. I FINALLY have a really good doctor, who is no specialist, just my regular primary care doctor, who has taken the time to finally listen to me and redo all of these tests. Will keep everyone posted. Update on the blood work..my DHEA levels are very high, indicating the tumor is probably malignant. The doctors are confused about his because my DHEA-sulfate levels are fine. They (pcp doctor and Endocrinologist), have no idea why the DHEA level is so high and what might be causing it. I have been to 3 totally different doctors for the adrenal tumor and intend on finding another one through Mercy's doctors. I'm confident (?) that I WILL finally find the doctor who will take this seriously and GET THIS TUMOR OUT OF ME..before it starts spreading! In the meantime, all the doctors tell me "oh you just need to stop stressing out so much about the tumor". WHAT???? I've gone for over 2 years now living with knowing I have this tumor in me...not knowing whether it is malignant or not and I just "need to stop stressing about it"????? After undergoing a recent MRI of my spine and right shoulder, they discovered a rotator cuff tear of my right shoulder. It is killing me. I first tore it back in '92, but had no insurance or any way to pay for surgery, so I've had to suffer with it all these years. After waiting a week to hear from the Orthopedic Clinic at OU Medical Center here in Oklahoma City, I finally got a letter the other day letting me know I have an appointment in OCTOBER!! So I have to endure another month of awful pain from this!! Thank God my youngest son lives with me and helps me with all the "chores" around the house or I'd never make it.
