This is a 10" x 10" quilt block, mixed media that I created for the APF quilt project. The figures represent me: some days I'm up, some days I'm down (interpreted as pain level or mood--you decide). The butterflies represent a lightening of heart (and were made from a ribbon that came with a get well basket). The border is made from a hand-painted necktie that I found at the Goodwill and took apart. My husband thought I was making paper dolls. My daughter thought it was a "pain chain."

Andy
It's very nice to meet you and I thank you for sharing your quilt block with us.
Your idea with the ups & downs was very relatable for me and I just this am was having coffee on my patio and enjoyed watching a very beautiful butterfly, as I was thinking "We just don't have enough butterflys anymore!" or most of the time life is too busy to notice them.
I guess one good thing that's come with Chronic Pain, is my life has slowed down and I now look at so many things so differently. I stop to smell the roses and to watch butterflys too.
Thank you very much for sharing
Betty
