Why don't people want to hear the truth?

By Ray Friday, September 05, 2008

I find it interesting that folks come to this site and ask questions then get ticked when someone is out 'n out honest with them. I answered a couple a questions in the question part here and one lady sent me a message chewing me out for what I said to her. A real rant complete with the f word.

Life ain't easy, folks. Wish it was but it ain't. Me and my wife have been married nigh on 60 years. There was times we both thought our kids would break our hearts. We got counseling so we could handle things better and help them. And this was in the day when you just didn't go to strangers and air your dirty laundry. Nah, if you want an easy life this one ain't for you. Nothing is easy on the face of this earth.

So we come here to learn and ask questions. If you don't want an honest answer, don't ask the question!

Hello Ray

Welcome to the Chonic Pain Connection.  It's plesure to meet you and I'm good with honesty.  smile Laughing

I'm not sure what situation your referring to, but I've been here quite a while and found that some times people take our words the wrong way, it's not always easy to show expression in our words and sometimes the truth can sound harsh to others.

I've found that each individual is at such a different stage of their journey through their chronic Pain & illness and some are just not quite ready to face realities yet and others are far past the brutal truth, so I just try to figure out where others are at on their journey and meet them at their stage of illness.  Sometimes it's hard and as I said, it's hard to express our selves when we are not looking one another face to face and sometimes it would be easier to hear the tone of ones voice and we could understand them better.  But not to worry, we can only answer the best we know how.Wink

Have a Great day and I hope to see you around

Betty

Thank you for straightening out the younger people. You are correct. If you don't want the answer-don't ask the question. The real world is not sugar coated. My parents raised me saying," S_ _t in one hand and wish in the other and see which one fills up faster." I'm going to be 44 in Nov. by the way, in case you kids are wondering. I have tried to give my daughter (25) a good view that life is not easy. I've always told her, be grateful for your life because there is always somebody worse off. That is what gets me moving everyday. I am a fellow fibro fighter and in the process of an MS diagnosis after many years. Experience is education. Thanks Ray. I'm in your corner.
