Still struggling with the verbage addition and dependence on medication to control my pain. My life isn't spiraling out of control because I'm medically able to get relief from my chronic pain. If I wasn't able to legally receive my medication then would that cross me over to an 'addict'? Maybe.. My medication lets me stay working and funtioning and not in bed for days in end. So, the critium is shady.

The distinction between addiction and dependency is an important distinction to make. Because your life is not experiencing any dysfunction as a result of the medication use, then I would say it is safe to say that your dependency to medications is not crossing over into an addiction to medications.
