Howde All, I started physical therapy today (friday 8-8). My pain pump doesn't slow me down. I'll go to Dr. Monday (8-11) to get the 10 staples out of my lower back. Just to add to the problems of getting Class II's ,like the 60mg. aday morphine I was on, took a drug test every two months @$600. per ...

    Hello Mrs. Miller

Its nice to see you again.  $600 dollars every couple of months is outrages.  I'd never be able to afford such a thing.  It's hard to figure out why your doctor, after 14 yrs with you, still needs to test you this often.  I can hardly believe why he would need to do that.  All I can think of is that it must be some sort of office policy he's following.

My doctor can test me at any time, but I too have been with him for even longer than I've had pain and to my knowledge, he's never even tested me once in nearly 7 yrs.  Every two months seems like complete over doing it.  It must be frustrating as heck to have to have the test all the time and the cost is wayyyyy too much. Wow

I'm so sorry for you.  Having chronic pain and not wanting to be forced into taking these meds like we all have to do, is bad enough.  We all or most feel bad enough about it, without havng our docs treat us with such suspicion & like drug seekers.

Now that you have the pump, do you still have to be tested all the time?

I cannot even walk on my own without meds, so I guess if they requested the test of me, I'd go ahead and do it, but boy it would be furstrating.

Glad to hear your going to therapy, is is helping much?  I hope so.  I unfortunately did not get much help from 3 different courses of PT and my doc finally said he & the therapist felt is was a waste of time for us all and only caused a great deal more of pain.  I hope yours works better for you.

Good luck at your apt tomorrow, it's probably going to be nice to have those staples removed and get your healing time overwith.  Good to hear that the pump is working for you.  I hope to have one installed some day for my own pain.

Good to hear from you, take care

Gentle Hugs & have a nice day

    Betty
