My second visit with my doctor yesterday went pretty well. Although he is still concentrating on my Fibromyalgia, we did discuss my arthritis. He said that getting the fibromyalgia under control was his first priority at this point. He said treating the arthritis would come in time. I hope so, because even with taking Tramadol for pain, it doesn't seem to help with my aching bones. Especially my hands and feet. Doc thinks that some of that ache is due to the Fibromyalgia. We will see as time goes by. It seems that when I get one thing under some control, another thing happens. I am having a time with female issues and I am looking at a possible hysterectomy. It somehow seems unfair that I would have to face another health crisis with out my mom. Shortly after she died, I ended up having brain surgery to clip an aneurysm in the artery at the base of my brain. I feel very blessed that it was found before it ruptured. I am keeping my chin up and talking to God everyday. I will continue my walk with Him and take one day at a time.

When you have two pain illnesses, it can be difficult to tell which one is causing any particular pain. I think your doctor is wise for trying to get the fibromyalgia under control first. Usually the pain from FM is worse and more widespread than arthritis. If you can get the FM pain under control, it should be much easier to treat the arthritis.
I hate to hear that you may have to have a hysterectomy. However, if you do end up requiring surgery, please read this article and talk the procedures over with your doctor and surgeon ahead of time: Fibromyalgia and Surgery
