This Is My Life In Chronic Pain

By Mckay K Sunday, September 14, 2008

What is it like to live in chronic pain?

It is as if an insane force has permission to create as much misery as possible. However, their directions are that they cannot eradicate me. They can hurl me to the deepest darkest depths of misery.

Trapped inside this torture chamber of a body is my mind. My mind clearly thinks it can move the world. However, it has no assistance. My wrenched body refuses to participate.

There is no quality of life. I make no itinerary. There is no escape. In addition, I can do nothing alone. I live extremely dependent on others-my family, my friends, etc.

My doctor is cautious to prescribe enough pain medication to stop the pain. He is afraid of a DEA investigation into his practice. Therefore, he prescribes just enough pain medication to keep me off his telephone and out of his office between visits.

This is MY LIFE in chronic pain!
