Constipation!

This is a topic that most really don't want to discuss in public, it's a rather private issues and some of us are quite uncomfortable with it, in not only discussion, but also literally.

I'd like to just share some of the ways that I personally have found relief and also maybe open a door for others to share.

Constipation is probably one of the most widely troubling & sometimes distressing symptoms that every person in Chronic Pain and that use Opiate Pain Relievers suffer's with.  We've all tried all kinds of OTC therapies, Fiber, increased fluids, and any other suggestions that we can find to get some relief from this dreadful side effect.

A couple of years ago, while I attended my Pain Clinics Pain Management classes, I had received a bowel Maintenance Program that I have on occasion shared with other pain sufferers and I thought since I've not seen any share post regarding this topic that I would also share with the rest of you.  If your interested, then I invite you to view my program on my page on pain at http://www.carecentral.com/bettys-pages-on-pain

I would also like to see if some of you have advice to give that would help out others trying to fight this dreadful side effect of our pain relieving medications.

Has anyone every utilized Colonics or Colon Hydrotherapy?

I have used my BM program for the past few years and normally had regular success with it, but after my first trip this summer, since I've been in pain and had to take opiate pain relievers to accomplish getting out of bed in the morning.  I found that the trip and the upset in my normal routine and schedule, really did a number on my digestions and elimination process.

While on vacation, I had still tried to keep myself on my program, but was not going as well as I had at home.  By the time my 10 day trip to paradise was over, I had noticed that I was having a great deal of trouble with my BM's, I continued fighting with the use of my program stool softners and laxatives, but the only success that I was having was very minimal, I was straining more, my abdomen was distended, I felt bloated, I had no appetite and was just feeling crappy (no pun intended) all over.

I had tried some Herbal Cleansing Programs that I had bought at Health Food stores in the past, so I thought that I'd try one again.  I went though the monthly program and had a few days that I had some good results, but not even close to what the web-sites had described and compared to others results.

As I searched the net for more ideas and trying to find a solution to my problems that was increasingly getting worse and the discomfort had gotten to a state of, I knew If I did not get some things moving that I was going to be in the hospital with a possible serious problem.  I was really needing some very effective and quick relief.

I ran onto a site that turned me to research Colon Hydrotherapy.  I had heard of this before, and some what contimplated it in the past, but really had some fears and anxieties about actually going through with it or even calling to discuss it with a therapist.
