I was just prescribed Cymbalta for nerve pain. I havent started yet but have read some good results on studies involving nerve pain and Cymbalta. Cymbalta was originally a major anti-depressant. Doctors have realized it is having good results for patients with nerve pain. Check out the web-site.

I know everybody's different w/ meds but when i took this gabapentin (100mg)after a week or so my right foot/ankle started to swell, after about another week i showed my dr. a pic of how bad the swelling gets and she took me off it, but now both feet/ankles swell up when ever they want and dr. says i have edema now. When i 4 got to take a dose i had anger issues. Just got like really mad and could not control the anger.

I also tryed the cymbalta and that made me feel like i was nuts, got really paranoid on it.

Like i said everyone is different thoe. Now i have learned not to take anti-deppresants. I hope you have better luck then me.

I am sorry that you had so much difficulty with the meds.  I am already on an anti-depressant and I think I will ask to switch to cymbalta.  Ty for the replies.

I have been on Gabapentin (Neurontin) for 9 yrs!!!  First to treat nerve pain in my rib area.  Nine yrs later I have been having many problems with burning feet weakness in my legs shaking, bladder problems (pressure like I have to urinate but don't have too.)  I've had many test and seen many doctors.  Checked for MS, Parkinson's, Lupus, RA, Fibromyalgia, neuropathy etc.  Now doctor is weaning me off meds.  Off lescol 6 mths now.  Bladder med Elmiron off 4 mths.  Now I'm weaning off Neurontin.  I had been on a higher dose but recent years on 900 mgs a day; then down to 600mgs, down to 300 mgs, 200 mgs for 9 days & now 100 mgs a day.  The third day of 200 I felt more pain and the weakness is more.  I can't walk very far.  I'm feeling nausea, dry mouth and the internal & external shaking has intensified.  I wish I never started Neurontin 9 yrs ago.  I feel awful.
