Has anyone here had lidociane infusions for nerve pain?  I have had it three times now.  I was told that it can take up to 5 doses to feel the effect from it.  So far nothing for me.  Any thoughts or comments would be great.Laughing  Thank you.

I'm sorry to say that I have had it but it was of no help to me.

I hope it begins to help you.

Good luck.

I have patients do 6-7 days at 5 mg/kg over 2 hours.  They are monitored the entire time.  I advise patients to expect NOTHING for 5-7 days....and even then, sometimes it takes an additional 4-7 days before benefits occur.  My first patient seem to 'get nothing' as she was also suffering from a migraine.  21 days later all of her fibro pain came back and she walked in demanding another infusion.  She gets them every 21 days now and is out of bed and working part time now.  The thing is, go in without expectations.  You have nothing to loose if you've tried pretty much everything else in my opinion.  Because Lidocaine is a sodium channel blocker (disrupts nerve impulses), I call it a 'soft reboot' of the body.  It has been very well tolerated and I have had every patient experience some type of pain relief, although in some patients their pain score may have only dropped from an 8 to a 7.
