I've been having a lot of sleep issues lately....can't get to sleep sometimes, but then can't get up in the morning at all sometimes as well.  I take Ambien on top of several pain meds....Lyrica & Oxy, and then also some antidepressents.....Lexapro & Wellbutrin.  I don't know if some combo of my meds is the problem or what.  I'm going to a sleep specialist later in July, but until then it's really hard to function.  Sometimes I can't get up for work....or fall asleep at work.....not good!!!

Anyone have any ideas??

I don't know the med Lyrica, but the Oxy and break-through Hydro-Morpine,  I feel your frustration.  I know it's the pain that wakes me, if my wife took 1/2 of a 10mg oxy she would sleep for days.  I'm new to this post, had pain pump implanted 2 1/2 weeks ago with morphine, had some very unusual reactions after surgery that so far no one has been able to give me a reason,

but the small ammount of morphine they have to start with can not be increased untill I get a Mylgram (sp, sorry).  But I did get a little relief from pain and have been sleeping a little better.  Which has me a very happy man! it's amazing how grateful people are with small amount of relief from  chroic pain.  I really thought I was happy, I have a lot to be thankful for but for just a little relief and a little more sleep is finally a step closer to (hopfully) a close to normal life style again!  I'm not looking for complete relief because I don't think that will ever happen but I will grateful with any amount of relief and 4 hours straight sleep. I might be jumping the gun by celabrating early but I not looking for a miracle!   I can not sleep in my own bed,  I can get 2 hours on the couch if I have a good night then have to move to a different position or sit in a chair and dose off for 1/2 hour or so. do you have the same problem?

I can only speak from experiance but I know I react differently to meds than the rest of my familly does,  I don't know the reason , hopefully someone might post that can answer your question for us.  I just remembered one of my daughters was given codine when she was young and was bouncing off the walls, everyone else in the house would fall asleep right away.  Some people have different reactions to meds I quess.  I take Lunesta, I tried taking 2 once and it did not help so I just stick to one and hope for the best, if I need the sleep because of the activities the next day I'll add an Alprazolam.  Try not to take too many meds and keep to a minimum

I hope you find something that helps you I know how frustrating it can be, piled on top of the other problems we deal with day after day!

Up again and can't sleep.  Need to get some shut-eye before work tomorrow.  Took a soma to see if it can help.  Not sure what else to do.

I have delt with CFS for years - over time I have managed to eliminate some meds. I have also a sleep disorder, I used to take ambien - than I got to the place (in an assistive living situation) that I felt that I couldent die from not sleeping, I sleep when I can and since I don't have to rise early for work or such I make do with out sleeping aids.

after being "sleepdrugfree" for quite a whle - I have used Ambein for a sleep fix once in a while, if I use it for at least three (3) days I find my back hurts. After having this happen at least five or six times I have tucked this in my memory bank as a result.

I have also had great results from a visit to a pain clinic. Hope this helps you - KEEP YOUR CHIN UP!!
