I had back surgery on april 10th an have noticed the last couple of days a small but growwing lump under the top of the inscision im going to see the surgeon this afternoon because of it. there is no redness around the inscision and i dont have a fever any ideas what this lump my be.
Wow!I hope everything works out for you.I had two back surgerys this past year on my spine actually and I know how you must feel.My incision wouldn't stay colsed either time and needed to be restitched.Had no infections either just have a really hard time healing.I'am still in alot of pain.
thanx for your concern sarah this is my second surgery since october (third over all) on my discs. i'm so sorry that youv'e had so much difficulty and that your still in pain. my dr. told me there's not much more he can do for me and to prepare to be in pain the rest of my life so i can relate to you. i hope you have a pain free day soon.

It is a very sad situation that many of us are in. The future for chronic back pain, will most likely
lie in the area of stem cell research! My doctors have told me that, there is nothing
that can be done for my epidual fibrosis and arachoinditis. Being in constant pain ,and
having to lie flat on my back for up to 20 hours a day, has changed me as a person.
I live my life watching tv around the clock, I hate to leave my house,or to talk to strangers or anyone that i do not know. The only people that understand are ,people in the same situation,

Just my opinion but this is most likely swelling to the operative site. It should subside, unless there is possible still a suture present trying to work itself out.
thanx amanda it was sutures tant tore a little the dr. put me on keflex as a precation but dosent think there is any infection which is what i was fearing
Glad to hear it was minor and not an infection. I read your comment to Sarah and yes unfortunately like so many of us that have dealing with on going pain it stinks. I have now opted to go with the Suboxone route oposed to taking a but load of pain pills a day and really with no relief. They are just now finding out that Suboxone is effective for more than those that are opiate dependent to not experience withdrawal symptoms. I can't tell you what relief I have with the suboxone. I took one yesterday at 8 in the morning and didn't need anything until 5 this morning. FOR ME THAT'S A BLESSING AND A MIRACLE. I'm so thankful that my family doc is on the ball and aware that the suboxone is effective for chronic pain, not just those that have been taking pain meds to try to catch a high.
