Hello Cherie

It's great to meet you here.

It's sounds like you and I have some similar symptoms in common.  I have lumbar pain, that involves both my legs, burning in the thighs, sharp pain down past my knees, Fibromyalgia, sciatica, pain everywhere, blah, blah, blah.

I'm going to aske about Lyrica at my end of the month visit and see if I cannot try it.  I will admit that I'm not really to happy of some of the side effects, but with all the side effects of the rest of the junk I'm taking, I'll just have to weigh the difference and see if the postive results are worth the side effects.

I'll be curious to see if you find the med helpful too.

Take Care

Betty

Hello Cherie

I'm really sorry for your relentless pain and twitching.  I wonder if the twitching is from your body going through the process of you eliminating your other meds.

I'm afraid that I'll have to give up some of my other meds for the Lyrica and that will definately be something that I will have to think about.  It took a long time for me to even get the pain control that I have right now, which is not perfect, but It's a great deal better than the years I spent in excruciating pain and I'm not sure that I'll be willing to give up the program I'm on, for Lyrica.  If it's something we can add to what I'm taking, then I'd like to try and see if it helps, but I'm not going to give up the meds that I can count on to give me some relief.  I'm sure  that sounds dumb, but I just cannot go backwards with my pain control and then have a difficult time getting back on the meds that work.

I really hope your's helps you soon, who wants to be struggling worse during the holidays.

Take care of your self and I'll be sure and pray that you get some relief.

I appreciate you sharing your info with me

Betty

I have also read the material on Lyrica for Fibromyalgia, I am currently only taking Flexerial 10mg 3 tabs at bedtime. I have tried many medications and refuse to be sedated. I am still looking for a permanent answer. I have been on Flexerial for 2 years now and it is the only one to make much of a difference. They has tried a thyroid augmentation on me a year ago which damaged my thyroid and I gained 50 pounds in 3.5 months whcih I can not lose, so that alone makes it worse and depressing as well.  I hope that you find the answer that you need, constant pain is not a fulfilling way of life but we have to do what we have to do.  Take care, Melinda Pruett

First of all I hope you didn't go off your medications cold turkey but rather weened off of them gradually under doctor supervision / advice.  The Lyrica had major side effects on me & my insurance company denied it & suggested Neurontin.  It is the same classification of drug basically.  I started it (it's fairly inexpensive) & have had no side effects nor did I have to give up any of my other meds.  Hope all goes well for you.  I am curious about the epidurals you had for your back  pain, did they help or more harm than good?  Thanks hun. Be well & be blessed. ~kat

I too have had chronic pain for 10+ years, mainly fibro & a typical facial neuralgia.  As a nurse who now works in a pharmacy I've wondered if Lyrica would help for me?  I do plan to try the magnesium but have my doubts.  Any input would be welcome.   Dixie

I started the lyrica and after a while felt no relief. However, now my body is in the worst flare up ever! It hurts to breathe, my back hurts, even my toes hurt! I have no idea what brought about all this pain at once....any ideas or suggestions...I just got some cortizone injections in the low back for low back pain, but it is/has been spreading all over my body! All i want to do is sleep, and i am young, only 23 and married. My husband is probably sick of hearing me complain all the time...please help.

Hi there,

I was just reading through the Lyrica postings because a friend suffers from Chronic back pain and I wanted to find out more information to send him.  We're both 30 and I just wanted to extend my caring, sympathies, whatever you want to call it to a fellow sufferer.  I'm sure being young and married and in chronic pain is difficult and I hope you have a good network of people around you and are staying as strong as possible.  My friend has been through a lot and I really don't know how to help him at times but we try.  Stay hopeful and I sincerely hope you're feeling better by now.

Take care,

Kai
