I am supposed to get an epidural nerve block in 2 weeks (lumbar) but I have read posts about horrible pain after and don't know if I can deal with more pain than I do daily. Any advise?
I've had several epidural shots and I don't find them to be too painful. My
Doctor uses numbing medication before doing the injection so is really not that bad. My best advice is not to tense up, when you do you tend to feel the pain 10 fold! So just relax during the procedure and things should be fine. When you get home, try to lay down and rest so the medication has time to work. Use some ice packs on the area of the injection to help with the after pain and that should be enough to make you feel good. Take care,
I usually have a bit more pain for a few days after ESPECIALLY if I don't rest & ice immediately after. And of course, don't try to over-do, which I am really bad about. :')
