i had a bad reaction to cymbalta a few months ago, since then i've become a lot more educated about the meds i take. i'm on pain meds for neuropathy, another pill for leg tremors, and one for my blood pressure, i 've taken these for years and know my body's not having a problem with them, but i will not take any new meds because of all the side effects that could possibly happen. it's just not worth it to me to take the chance. i'll deal with the alergy, i'll lose a night's sleep, and my cholestrol can stay a bit high, at least i know i won't have a heart attack, become suicidal, walk in my sleep, or kill someone. I don't trust the big pharmas any more and i'm not too keen on the fda, i'm not in pain and my legs don't shake, that's enough to keep me happy and productive.
no new meds in hawaii

Aloha mj or Malia io
it's nice to meet you!
I too have hesitated with starting or trying many of the newer medications on the market today. It seems they all have some many side effects and I am just not willing at this time to try a medication that the possible side effects far out weigh the benefits in my eyes.
I'm glad you've taken control of your health and medications. We are our own best advocates, we know our bodies and we are the only ones who can say NO!
I've been on the same meds for several years now and I've gotten used to the side effects that are significant for me, learned to work around them and deal with them and am not at all interested in trying something new that may cause some serious reactions.
I hope your doing well, thank you for sharing your experience and hopefully you'll come by to visit when your able.
Take Care
Gentle hugs
Betty
